What interesting you can find in Jägihorn via ferrata in Switzerland? What does Lower Austria offer to hikers? Which via ferrata in Rax is the best and why did the Brenta Dolomites delight me so much? You will learn all this by reading the posts on this website. And that’s not all! A few years ago I went on via ferrata also in the Lienz Dolomites, where I climbed, among others, the great via ferrata Panorama and in the Dachstein area, where I faced the difficult via ferrata Johann and Irg 2. I climbed Breithorn, which is considered the easiest four-thousander in the Alps, and recently I was mountainbiking in bike parks in the Alps. Read what MTB trails are offered in Austria’s Saalbach and Leogang and the French 3 Valleys.

bike park la plagne

La Plagne – french bike park with flow trails

I visited La Plagne Bike Park during my August trip to the bike park in the 3 Valleys. On the last day, bored with the trails in Les 3 Vallees, we went to see another place and it was a very good choice. The trails in La Plagne have a different character and were more fun for me than in 3 Vallees.

3 doliny bike park

Les Trois Vallées (The 3 Valleys) – large french bike park

Dozens of routes to be explored. A huge area of three Alpine valleys and everything on one cheap pass. It sounded great! Unfortunately, that’s just what it sounded like…

bike park leogang

Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang, Fieberbrunn – Austria’s bike parks

Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn are towns between Salzburg and Innsbruck, promoted as the Austria’s largest bike region. I spent a week there in July this year and there is indeed a lot to do there, although under the slogan “largest in Austria”, I expected it to be even bigger.

via ferrata jegihorn - most

Jägihorn – via ferrata with the coolest bridge

I have had the opportunity to walk the hanging bridges on via ferratas already several times, but I definitely had the best time on Jägihorn! The bridge is really long, hangs high above the ground, the surrounding views are beautiful and its swinging while passing provides extra emotions :)

breithorn

Hiking trip to Breithorn – the easiest alpine four-thousander

For a long time I could not convince myself to go to Breithorn (4164 m). I haven’t been on any four-thousander before – except for Toubkal, where I didn’t reach the summit ;) so it would be a pleasure to reach some, but hiking the ski runs didn’t seem interesting to me. I don’t regret, however. I gained new experiences, and the views, despite these ski runs, were pleasing to the eye.

via ferrata johann, dachstein

Via ferratas at Dachstein region – difficult and beautiful

Since I did my first via ferrata two years ago – at Hohe Wand, I knew that I have to visit the region of Dachstein. This is where you can find several via ferratas graded D, and even E, where I wanted to challenge myself. This year I had an opportunity.

via ferrata hias

Via ferratas in Silberkar gorge

Silberkar gorge in the Dachstein massif can be a great idea for a family day out but you can connect it also with via ferratas. In the gorge and above the Silberkar Hut there are three short but interesting via ferratas.

via ferrata madonnen

Via ferrata trails in Lienz Dolomites

After few days in Brenta, we relocated to Lienz Dolomites to try more difficult via ferratas. I was satisfied! The views aren’t so amazing as in Brenta but still wonderful and via ferratas were really challenging for me, especially the last one ;)

brenta dolomites bocchette centrali

Brenta Dolomites – the most wonderful mountains I’ve ever seen

The trail Via delle Bocchette is said to be the most spectacular via ferrata in Brenta Dolomites and one of the best in whole Alps. It’s technically easy but offers great exposure and excellent views. I was impressed!

kitzbuhel alps alpbach summer

Biking and hiking in Kitzbühel Alps

Wide, nice valleys, beautiful views from the top of the mountains and the best – 20 km downhill! It was my first biking trip in mountains and I have to repeat it :)
