The bike park in Sölden is the highest of the Austrian bike parks and one of the largest. The trail starting at an altitude of 2600 m is breathtaking with its views and there are so many lines that one day is not enough to get to know them all.
The bike park is serviced by two gondolas that take bikers from an altitude of approx. 1,300 m to approx. 2,300 m and a chairlift that takes you to an altitude of 2,650 m. From there, if you connect several trails, you will have approx. 13-15 km of descent to the very bottom.
The trails are arranged in such a way that when riding in the bike park, some of them are ridden multiple times. One of these trails is the Eebme Line, which you have to ride to get to the start of the Ohn Line or to the chairlift. It is an easy flow trail.
Several trails end at the same place and the end has to be done via the Broate Line. This is mostly gravel road with a few short, more difficult variations.
It takes you to a small skill park with a pumptrack and a large drop.
In general, there are a lot of easy flow trails in the bike park in Sölden. The aforementioned Eebme Line and Ohn Line are marked as blue, but in other bike parks, trails of similar difficulty are marked as green. The Troaln Line, Harbe Line and Lettn Line have a similar character and level of difficulty.
I would rate the condition of the trails as good, meaning there were washboards and holes in the berms in places, but most of the berms were quite smooth. Unlike what I’ve encountered in a few other Alpine bike parks.
I didn’t have time to ride the Gahe Line during my one-day visit, but from what I’ve seen on YouTube, it’s similar to the ones mentioned above.
I had a lot of fun on Teäre Line. It’s also a flow trail, marked as red, but I’d say it’s blue.
The Ollweite Line, which starts at the very top, is also red. It is also quite easy for a red, but it is not completely smooth. It has a lot of rock gardens and single stones that can be used as jumps. For me, this is the coolest trail in this bike park. And those views!
The Leiterberg Trail deserves the red color. Overall, I didn’t like it much because of the gravel road sections, but it also has some interesting natural sections.
Of the black trails, I only rode the Nene Trail. It is a trail with a natural character, probably led along old hiking trails. In my opinion, the color is adequate.
I didn’t have a chance to see the other four short black lines and a few trails without lift access.
Bike Republic Sölden is a place that I can recommend the most to people looking for long, easy trails with beautiful views. Advanced people will also find something for themselves, but I think they might get bored on most of the trails. I was very pleased with my visit to Sölden and I would gladly come back, this time for 2-3 days, to also get to know the trails that are not reachable by lift.
