There is an easy flow trail, there are natural enduro trails, there is a black DH trail. Something for everyone, I had a good time, but it could be better.
The bike park is located in Mutters near Innsbruck and is served by two lifts. If we count all the lines, there are 11 of them, but there are some that are less than half a kilometer long.
Most of the trails run along the Muttereralmbahn lift. This is a gondola that holds two bikes and operates daily.
The second lift, the Nockspitzbahn, operates only in the summer weekends. There are theoretically two lines along it, but in reality there is only one – the red trail, which changes to the black trail halfway down.
The longest trail in Bikepark Innsbruck is the blue The Chainless One. It is a flow trail with many berms and a few tables. It is 7 km long and is the only trail along the Muttereralmbahn that leads from the very top to the very bottom. Other trails start or end on this trail, so I rode some parts of it many times. Despite this, I did not get bored and even liked it more and more as I got to know it better. It is just a shame that the trail was so worn out. There were holes in some of the berms.
The red lines are more natural, but also have some berms and jumps. The longest is The First One, which starts at the top and is 2 km long. After finishing it, you can continue on the blue or black trail.
The Crazy One is 500m long and is actually a variant of The First One.
In addition to them, there are two more red ones – The Shot One 1 and The Shot One 2. Both fork from the blue line and return to it and are about 150 m long. Such a short variations from the berms.
The black line – The Straight One, is 2 km long and you have to get to the start by riding the blue or red trail. A lot of roots, a few quite steep places and gaps of several meters. All of them can be bypassed.
For the more advanced, there are two trails marked on Trailforks as prolines – The Naughty One and The Jumpline, both about half a kilometer long. I didn’t try them.
The Dual Slalom line is interesting. It is a short trail at the very bottom, where you can race with friends.
Every decent bike park should have a skill park, or training area. In Bikepark Innsbruck it’s called Rookie Park. What can we find there? Not much. Small tables, bigger tables, small jumps from footbridges and that’s it. I think the bigger tables could be a bit longer, because I’m generally bad at jumping and in bike parks I often don’t reach the landings, and here I only took off a little and almost flew over ;)
There is also a pumptrack at the very bottom by the parking lot.
Overall, it’s a cool place for a one-day, maybe two-day trip. I would definitely get bored there for longer.
The price of the pass, in my opinion, is adequate to what the bike park offers. 39 euros with the Go Pass for the whole day is significantly less than in other Austrian bike parks I have visited. There are also 3-hour, 4-hour, 2-day and 3-day passes.
