I spent only few days in Castellón district, but I had a chance to see it on a ground on short bike trips and from above on parachute jump. It was really beautiful :)

I had accommodation in my friends’ home. They are from Poland, have skydiving school and I used to skydive and work on their dropzone in Poland. Few years ago they decided to move to Spain and in 2011, when I visited them they were working on Skytime Dropzone.

Skytime is said to be the closest dropzone to a beach in Europe. I’m not sure it is true, because in Poland there is the dropzone Sky Camp Baltic which is located also by a beach, on Hel Peninsula. However, Skytime located in Castellón De La Plana is also amazing and really close to the sea. I don’t have any photos from my skydive because I don’t skydive with a camera and I did skydive alone, but I want to show you how beautiful is there so I found some nice video on YouTube:

If you haven’t skydive yet, you can always make a jump in tandem (with instructor). More details you will find on www.skytime.info. It’s not a cheap entertainment but you can believe me that it’s great fun :)

What else you can do in Castellón?

Bike trips. I regret I was only few days there and I didn’t have time to make more trips. One of nice trails, although very short is greenway from Benicassim to Oropesa. Greenways (Vias Verdes) are old railway lines that have been changed to bike trails and foot paths. All over Spain there are 2400 km of greenways, and all of them you fill find on website  www.viasverdes.com.  I was only on that one on coast in Castellón district but in future maybe I will go for some longer bike trip to Spain.

The other nice bike trail in this region is Desert de les Palmes Nature Park. It goes a few kilometres up on asphalt and of course next you can go a few kilometres down, and that was the best part of the trip :)
