The Singletrack Nowa Ruda is an MTB trail complex officially opened just 2 days ago. I already visited it yesterday and was really impressed! These are not just easy singletracks for beginners. The trail creators also took care of more experienced riders.

Already 2 years ago I said that Lower Silesia is the best region in Poland for MTB. Now I have another argument in the form of the trails in Nowa Ruda.

The complex features 5 trails, including 3 flowtrails and 2 enduro trails.

The trails are marked with colors, which do not indicate difficulty. The easiest is the red trail, named Pętla Nowa Ruda (Nowa Ruda Loop). It is about 6 km long with about 200 m of elevation gain. 2 km of this trail is a pleasant descent with berms and double rollers – so-called doubles, which you can either roll over or jump over.

You will also ride the climbing section of the Nowa Ruda Loop after descending other trails.

Pętla Widokowa, marked in blue, is also a flowtrail, meaning a smooth trail, but it has larger berms (some tight and steep), larger rollers, and obstacles that I would call table-rollers. That is something between double rollers and tabletops. Such tabletops with gaps, which if you decide to jump, you’d better clear them, because otherwise it will be a hard landing. Personally, I don’t like such features, I prefer regular tabletops where you can land short without any consequences.

From Widokowa you can directly enter Pętla Szczytowa (green). Here there are regular tabletops.

Riding the Nowa Ruda Loop, you will come across a fork with a pink arrow. That is Gadzia, an enduro trail where you will find smaller and larger jumps, a rock garden, a traverse, berms, and a wooden plank bridge from which you can either roll off or jump.

The most difficult trail in the entire complex is the yellow trail – Piekielnica. It is an enduro / downhill style trail, designed for high speeds and clearly made with advanced riders in mind. It starts with a very steep descent (visible in the photo, but as usual, the photo doesn’t do it justice and it looks steeper in reality). Further on, there are large berms, jumps, a root traverse, and a rock garden.

I must admit, I didn’t expect so many features on the enduro trails. I was a bit afraid that they would just be raked paths in the forest with one jump, but here it’s abundant!

Nowa Ruda has joined several other municipalities in Lower Silesia that have shown that public funds can be used to create a top-level facility.

The location of the complex also deserves attention. The trails start right at the parking lot on Góra św. Anny (St. Anne’s Hill). Right next to it, there is a restaurant, so you have a place to eat after training. The purple loop of the MTB Zone Sudety also runs through Góra św. Anny, so XC enthusiasts can extend their route with the easy and pleasant Nowa Ruda Loop.

And more MTB spots in Lower Silesia and other regions can be found on my MTB map.
