The bike park is located on the slopes of Geisskopf (Geißkopf) mountain near the town of Bischofsmais, close to the Czech border. The trails are not long, ranging from about 600 meters to 2.5 kilometers in length, but they are diverse and packed with interesting features.

The bike park was established in 1999(1) and is reportedly(2) the oldest bike park in Europe. It has everything you need for a great time.

First, it has an easy, flow trail – Flow Country Trail. It’s a shame it was closed during my visit, though.

Second, it also offers a slightly more challenging flow trail with berms and tabletops – Jumpline.

Third, it features red trails with a natural feel, complete with drops and other jumps. The most variety can be found on Mallet Trail, but Enduro 1 is also interesting. Enduro 2 and Transformers were my least favorites.

Fourth, there’s the Timber Coaster, a very interesting trail with wallrides. The only downside is the lack of nets on the wallrides, making it unsuitable for wet conditions.

Fifth, there are two black trails – one with a downhill character, simply called Downhill, and the other – Evil Eye 2.0, featuring north shores, large wooden drops, and gaps.

Sixth – there’s a skill park with various wooden bridges, tabletops, and other obstacles.

Geisskopf also has something quite rare for bike parks – an uphill singletrack.

The bike hangers on the lift are also worth mentioning. Each chair can hold three bikes at the back on wheel hangers. A similar solution exists in places like Dolni Morava and Koprivna in the Czech Republic, but there you need some effort to lock them in. At Geisskopf, you just slide the wheel in, and it’s secure. Super convenient.

The bike park also offers convenient ticket options. In addition to one- and two-day passes, there are shorter-term passes ranging from 1 to 5 hours, as well as tickets for 10 or 20 rides that can be shared among multiple people and are valid for two seasons.

The bike park grounds also include a bike and protective gear rental, a repair shop, a bike store, a restaurant, and a campsite. So, it has everything a proper bike park should have.
