The last 115 km to our destination we traveled along the Old Railway Trail, almost entirely on asphalt, without cars. In the evening, as planned, we got to Kołobrzeg and spent the entire next day relaxing by the sea :)
We spent the last night on the route in Cieszyno, in Agroturystyka Pod Jesionami. The accommodation is fine, although the kitchen is not so well equipped. Knives only for greasing, there was also nothing to light the gas stove, so if you plan to spend the night there, stock up properly ;)
After breakfast, half an hour late as usual, we set off on our tour. After 500 m, we entered the Old Railway Trail (Stary Kolejowy Szlak) – a bicycle trail running along the embankment of the old railway line. A beautiful asphalt road among greenery, especially for bicycles. Cool!
After 30 km, after Połczyn-Zdrój, the trail turns to a public road, but it is still a pleasant ride without car traffic.
On the last day, I expected everyone to be tired, and it turned out that we had a pace like never before! Even our biggest “drunkards”, who in the previous days needed a beer break every now and then, or actually they the most, were riding without stopping and after 3.5 hours we were halfway, in Białogard. Even though the wind didn’t help.
We did 2 hours break on the market before we moved on. Behind Białogard, the Old Railway Trail is not marked for some time, so we followed the Salt Trail (Szlak Solny) along the Parsęta River. The terrain was a bit more challenging for a few kilometers, but there was also a nice break by the water.
In Karlino, about 17 km behind Białogard, an asphalt bicycle trail reappears, leading all the way to Kołobrzeg.
We managed to catch the sunset :)
The next day we rode a part of the R10 bicycle route to Ustronie Morskie. It is a very popular route between Świnoujście and Hel. The section we drove was very nice, but for me too many people, especially near the towns. And it was Friday, mid-May, with not very good weather. It confirmed my conviction that it is not worth going on this trail, and certainly not in the season.
Only when it started to rain, people hid, and on the route appeared what I like to observe more – wild animals ;)
And the most wonderful thing was the evening sunset :)
This is how our week-long bicycle trip ended. The next day we got on the train and went home. We did about 720 km in 7 days, sometimes on uneasy terrain.
Before leaving, I had a slight fear of whether I would be able to do it, because although I did longer daily distances many times, I had never rode for more than 2-3 days in a row. It turned out, however, that at the end I was not even that tired, I mean I predicted that I would be more ;) And I wasn’t fed up with a bicycle for the next few weeks, but I wanted to go on more trips :)
