Bike parks, skill parks, singletracks, unofficial enduro trails… there is everything here. No matter what level you are at, you will find something for yourself in Lower Silesia.

I have been mountain biking for 3 years and there are still routes in Lower Silesia that I have not been to yet. There are so many of them, and new ones are constantly being created, so I simply do not have time for everything. However, I have seen enough to say that Lower Silesia should be called the mecca of Polish MTB and not, as some say – Bielsko-Biała.

What interesting for bikers does Lower Silesia have to offer?

One of the biggest attractions is the Singletrack Glacensis network. These are forest bike paths in the Kłodzko Valley, mostly easy and smooth.

The routes connect with each other, so depending on your desire, you can make a trip that is several, a dozen, several dozen or even a hundred dozen kilometers long. You can read more in the article: Singletrack Glacensis – over 200 km of MTB trails in Lower Silesia.

There are also easy singletracks in the Strzelin Hills, in the Land of Extinct Volcanoes (Kaczawskie Single Tracki) and in Jedlina-Zdrój.

Last year’s novelty in Lower Silesia are singletracks in Bystrzyca Górna. These are short trails, but they are really well done. Read more: New MTB trails close to Świdnica – Bystrzyca Singletracks, enduro trails and skill park.

Many people also recommend singletrack in Szklarska Poręba (route no. 14) and Zajęcznik in Świeradów. Both routes are among those I haven’t had the chance to visit yet.

Too easy? Are you bored with smooth trails? Then check out Olbrzymy Biking Trails. These are singletrack trails at the foot of the Karkonosze Mountains, full of boulders that have been turned into interesting obstacles.

The routes are approximately 60 km long in total and can be divided into two loops – one technically easier and one more difficult.

And something for people who don’t like to ride uphills? There are three such places in Lower Silesia.

  1. Family Bike Park Zieleniec – cool place for beginners
  2. Enduro Trails Srebrna Góra – great for intermediate bikers
  3. Bike Park Czarna Góra – advanced people will have the most fun here

Lower Silesia also has no shortage of places where you can practice your mountain bike technique. For some time now, there has been an XC track in Walim, and this year, the Lower Silesian Skill Parks have been established. These are places where a large number of various types of obstacles are placed in a small area: tables, drops, rock gardens, narrow footbridges, berms, etc.

The skill park in Strzegom has been opened in spring.

Shortly afterwards, a skills park was established in Brzeg Dolny – I especially recommend this place to beginners.

Recently, more trails have been opened – in Sobótka (MTB Janosik Trails) and in Ząbkowice Śląskie (Pętla Słoneczna), where there are several features for people at a higher level.

More biking skills parks are under construction – in Świdnica and Jelenia Góra.

In addition, there is a 4x (Four Cross) track in Szczawno-Zdrój.

In Lower Silesia you can also find many trails built by MTB enthusiasts themselves. These are the so-called enduro trails, i.e. trails with a natural character, often full of roots and stones.

There are a dozen or so such trails on Ślęża and Radunia. Importantly, the beginning of all the trails can be comfortably reached on gravel roads and you don’t need an electric bike for this. In contrast to the Beskids, where there are also great routes, but the climbs are often steep. And these are not only climbs on unofficial enduro trails. I happened to push my bike on an official bike trail.

Enduro trails can also be found on Chełmiec, the Jizera Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains (outside the national park).

The inhabitants of Lower Silesia are close to the Czech Republic, and there, near the border, there are other great places for mountain biking.

One of them is Singltrek pod Smrkem in the Jizera Mountains – easy single tracks in a loop about 50 km long.

Behind Śnieżnik Mount there is the Dolní Morava Bike Park, called by some “the best Polish bike park” because it is visited by more Poles than Czechs.

A little further from the border, but still close enough to get out of Wroclaw for a day, are Bike Park Kouty and Bike Park Kopřivná.

In addition, Trutnov Trails and Rychlebské stezky, that is rocky singletracks.

Is there anywhere else in Europe a region with such a large number and variety of MTB trails?
